Limited Number of 2018 Shares Now Available
Participating in a CSA is an excellent way of becoming part of a community that shares your concern about healthy eating. It is a way of knowing where your food comes from and enjoying a healthier, more connected lifestyle. We’ve been busy over the last year here at Rumar Farm. Notably, we’ve had our first Organic and Biodynamic audit, and are on track for full certification later this year. Working closely with our natural resources closely aligns with our values, and we are really excited about the potential for sustainability. Naturally, the best part of growing beautiful, fresh, organic fruits and vegetables is being able to share it with others, and that’s where our CSA shares come in. Our CSA program is ramping up for our 4th year, and with the lessons of the past, we learn how to better meet our Members needs. Our goal is to surpass your expectations.
Biodynamic farming is a form of alternative agriculture that treats soil fertility, plant growth and livestock care as ecologically interrelated tasks. If you are concerned about the sustainability of small farms, and are enthused about narrowing the gap between your food and the farmer who grows it, our CSA program may for you. Visit our web page Rumarfarm.ca/CSA for the program details and costs. There are only a limited number of shares available, so the a quick response may avoid disappointment.
What is a CSA program?
A mutual commitment between a farm and a community of supporters. It links people directly with their source of food. By purchasing a share in the season’s harvest, you receive a weekly package of fresh, organic, sustainably produced food. Rather than simply purchasing food, our customers become “members” of this CSA farm who receive a portion of the farm’s harvest.
Here at Rumar Farm, we have the unique ability to offer in our weekly baskets both Top Quality vegetables, as well as a varied selection of delicious and nutritious seasonal fruit. Our CSA runs for 18 weeks from June to October. Members are responsible for showing up at the agreed upon pick up site each week to receive your share of harvested produce.
